Skincare Opinions

I am not a dermatologist, esthetician, or any other professional.
I have spent a lot of time discussing, reading about, about learning about skincare,
which makes me want to write about it, but does not make me qualified to advise in any way. Information here
may rely on anecdotal or personal evidence, which does not necessarily make it scientifically proven. However, if
something here has been proven to be incorrect, please let me know so I can
improve my own knowledge and remove it from here.
- Though they may not need it, almost everyone can benefit from using tretinoin.
- Other than reliable and specifically-formulated products with active ingredients and Rx medications, skincare does not treat acne.
- CeraVe is accessible but overrated.
- St. Ive's Apricot Scrub is not always bad.
- Aging is a privilege. Sun protection and retinoid can reduce visible signs of aging and are useful anyways, but the horrific anti-aging beauty standards
created by corporations have had absolutely devastating effects.
- Spray sunscreen sucks.
- Humans have not always worn the sunscreen we have today, but they have always sought sun protection.
- Life is too short for most people to be afraid of the sun, and sunlight exposure is absolutely necessary and important.
Sun exposure and sun protection don't have to be mutually exlusive.
- Wearing noncomedogenic makeup can actually be extremely good for your skin, if you're like me and tempted to touch or pick at it otherwise
- No more Sephora tweens!
- Sometimes, it is better to extract some lesions rather than to not touch them at all (key word being SOME and assuming you are doing it CAREFULLY). It can quickly dissolve into a dermatillomanic mess and cause a whole host of additional problems.
